In partnership with the Washington Department of Wildlife, Methow Natives hand collected 8 pounds of bluebunch wheatgrass seed from the hills of the Methow Valley. The seed is currently being grown by Benson Farms in Moses Lake and should be available to the public during the fall of 2007. This grass will be well adapted to the Methow and ensure the highest quality in our restoration efforts. Be sure to order ahead because supplies will be limited.

We offer intermediate wheatgrass and slender wheatgrass. These are non-native species that establish easily and are effective at colonizing disturbed areas. They are useful for preparing a site prior to a complete restoration program, or following intense disturbance.

Methow Natives encourages the use of native species in restoration efforts. Native species are better adapted to long term survival and provide greater benefit for local fauna. However, we do offer a limited selection of non-native species for pasture reclamation and in situations where native restoration is not the main focus.

Please contact us for the most appropriate species for your project. We are happy to mix custom blends perfectly suited for your site.
